Bulago Island
is situated just one mile south of the equator on Lake Victoria-the
second largest fresh water lake in the world-and the source
of the Nile.
We are close to both Kampala, Uganda’s capital city, and Entebbe
International Airport. Bulago Island is reached either by motor
launch-a 40 minute journey-or by light aircraft from Entebbe
to our airfield-a 10 minute journey. |

|
Bulago Island is all about enjoyment and relaxation. We have
over 300 species of birds to watch, otters play along the shores,
and our nature trails provide wonderful opportunities for observing
nature at her best. Bulago has a wide range of terrain, from
rugged hills to open grassland to golden sandy beaches to gentle
cliffs to areas of tropical forest. All on a 500 acre private
island. |

We can offer a range of watersports, fishing trips for
giant Nile Perch (sometimes over 100 kg) and pony trekking.
We
pride ourselves on our delightfully friendly and efficient
service; our food is delicious - much of it home grown
on our tropical farm.

We have just 6 cottages and intend the Lodge to remain
small and intimate. At the Lodge we have full time electricity,
powerful, hot showers, flushing loos and a plentiful supply
of cold drinks and ice. One of Bulago Island’s great virtues
is that we are not troubled by mosquitoes. |

We are committed to preserving our beautiful lake environment
and work closely with the island’s fishing village. |
